Two New Limited Editions, With Some Special Surprises!

Limited Edition Jack-O-Lantern Rexie

Attract special Sprits year round!

These rexies have a special Jack-O-Lantern Soul, and all have matching affinity bodies. Each rexie has a +5 for each natural stat, and all are level 1. These spooky newcomers use frightening abilities, along with AoE party boosting spells and damage over time mechanics (+ a special new ability – see below!). The vendor is near the landing point at Krafties Island and will only be available for one week, now through November 4th. They’re priced at L$2,000. Get them while they’re here!

Additionally, *ALL* Jack O Lantern types will receive the following ability upon the conclusion of the Halloween Festivities:

Hallowed Whisper: This spell can be cast once every 7 days. For a *very short* time, casting this spell attracts Sprits – along with the *very rare* occurrence of Candy Sprits – to the caster’s location. The duration of this ability increases as the creature increases in overall level.
Dev Note: This ability does not currently have set durations or spawn rates, as these will be tweaked to fulfil the design intentions set for this new spell type as we observe how it is used. The intention behind this ability is to allow Jack-O-Lantern handlers to spin up small, rare events for friends with a chance for fun rewards, *not* to give any huge economic advantages in the candy market. Please keep that in mind when working with these creatures!

Limited Edition Zombie PlushRexie

The only way to obtain Ghostnip outside of the secondary market!

These Plush Rexies all have a special Zombie Soul complete with unique spells not found on any other type, and all have matching affinity bodies. Each creature will have a +5 for each natural stat, and all will be level 1. The vendor is near the landing point at Krafties Island and will only be available for one week, now through November 4th. They’re priced at L$2,000. Grab one while you can!

These undead friends are known for both taking massive amounts of damage as well as dealing it right back out. While one zombie alone is a force to be reckoned with, the real strength of these fiends lies in the horde – groups banding together for the hunt. Other creatures have a natural aversion to this type and sometimes seem to attack unprompted. Or, is this all playing right into the hands of the undead?

Zombie PlushRexies possess a Horde mechanic, giving them power boosts when more than one are in a region! They also contain the special “Resurrection” trait, which may revive a creature when its health is fully depleted along with a large increase to its strength. To top it all off, these creatures work in a few fun mechanics such as a spell type able to aggravate all nearby creatures into attacking!

Cursed Flash Events

Cursed events are manifesting during the holiday weekend! The random, chaotic energy controlling Flash Events has been taken over by a dark force. The events are flowing nonstop, but will you be able to figure out what’s really going on?

Krafties Island Sprit Infestation

There’s a giant patch of ghostnip growing underground at Krafties Island, and we’re being invaded by an army of Sprits. Throughout the Halloween event all varieties of Sprits will spawn on Krafties Island around the clock, including ultra rares. Come help us fend off these cute little spirits during the spooky season! (and maybe pick yourself up a few rares while you’re at it)

Skelefish and Fancy Worms

Fishing Up Skelefish

Skelefish are lurking in the waters for a limited time! When placed into tanks, these boney undead friends dig up Surprise Candies for their caretakers. Stock up while you can. Candy only drops during Halloween, yet these fish are able to dig it up at any time! Historically, they have also been one of the most sought after Krafties assets on the secondary market year round!

* Fishing Level 6 is required to reel in Skelefish

Crafting Fancy Worms

Just in time for Skelefish season, Fancy Worms are now craftable! If you thought fish went crazy for your regular ol’ boring worms just wait until you see how they react to these fancy new additions.

When using fancy worms as bait, rarer fish will be attracted to your line. That’s a krafties guarantee! And, of course that includes our super rare boney Halloween friends. Currently, Fancy Worms give 3x better odds at reeling in Skelefish!

To craft a ‘Fancy Worm’ you will need:

  • 2 worms
  • .5 Energy (rounded up)
  • Crafting Level 10

NOTE: When fishing, Fancy Worms will always be used first as bait if they are in your inventory

Enjoy the special events! Have fun!

A Note From The Developer

Hey guys! I wanted to swing by quickly here to drop a little update about this event, what was planned, and what *is still* planned. As some of you have seen, we recently introduced the Krafties Events Calendar which you can view at https://krafties.com/site/events-calendar/. There, you can see rough dates for plans that Krafties wants you to know about. In this note I want to briefly talk about why everything there is so ‘tentative’.

In order to do that I’ll use our 2023 Halloween season as an example (that’s this year, and the current season). At the beginning of this season Krafties scheduled three distinct event dates: one to kickoff Part 1 of our Halloween events, one to launch the Limited Editions, and another intended to kickoff Part 2 of our Halloween events alongside a *very mysterious* new event about houseplants. The reality of our releases is that Event 1 hit perfectly, then the LEs were delayed to be launched alongside Part 2 of our Halloween Events. And, that mysterious new event type, you ask? It’s now been delayed by a few days and been plastered with a MAYBE. Let’s talk about why.

The reason for delays is the easiest to explain, so I’ll start there. Simply put, I wanted everything to be better. The textures for the LEs, the stability of our backend systems so people can actually enjoy Krafties without server problems, creating new recipes and synergistic systems to tie the game together as a whole, even the pretty promotional material… There’s a moment where you sit back and look at what’s in front of you, look at the time left on the clock, and then make a call to either launch or delay based on oh so many factors. But to put it simply: I wanted things to be better, so we made them better.

However, that does come at the expense of something else. In a perfect world, today you would be experiencing the first ever Krafties boss battles. It’s something that’s been in the works for a long time, in many different incarnations, and may still have more incarnations to come. But, it’s about time to get them out there and see how players react. They were originally planned for a release today, as the content fits well into the spooky Halloween season, but I know things tend to come up and made sure that it could stand on its own just as well when designing the experience as a whole.

So that brings us to the MAYBE you see on the calendar. There is a world where we have done all of the work needed to launch boss battles, and then intentionally decide that sticking to the calendar ranges listed doesn’t make sense at times. Simply put, timing is everything. If boss battles can’t be delivered during an event that draws in a large number of players, it makes more sense to throw a bit *more* dev time into it so we can craft a fully polished experience that stands up on its own and forces players to fall in love with it. YOU WILL OR ELSE!

I made sure not to overpromise in the events laid out for this season when creating the calendar, which is why you’ll see the everything there is expertly vague. Now, I’ve announced boss battles because I want you to look forward to them, while understanding why Krafties chooses to launch things, run events, and send notifications at certain times and not others. Importantly, I’ll continue to figure out the best way to use this calendar to keep our community as up to date as possible while making sure Krafties is able to honor the intention you all are reading behind the calendar events. I hope we’re doing alright there so far!

Keep your fingers crossed that we’ll get to see spooky boss battles this halloween season, and know that if we don’t it’s because Krafties has a plan!

Hope you all enjoy the new Limited Editions and events 🙂
