A Short Overview

We’re excited to share two major happenings that have hit Krafties!

First, the anticipated World of Hunger expansion has arrived, bringing 200 new items and 70+ new crafting recipes that touch nearly every aspect of the game. This expansion is designed to create an immersive environment that works to boost player progression rates, while providing players with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in the game. Krafties hopes to encourage players to explore and discover reasons to engage in new ways. ALSO, a gaggle of cute new piggies have arrived hungry, ready to eat all of your delectable yum yums!

Additionally, it’s our yearly birthday party! Your favorite goodies have returned, with (maybe) some extra special surprises in store later in the week! This year’s celebration is already underway, with exciting activities and surprises waiting for you!

Release Schedule

With an event this large, adding content and changing systems ALL over our game world, it simply isn’t possible for Krafties to drop everything all at once. As players have seen over the course of our beta weekend, where things have trickled into the game and new content has appeared in chunks, issues are bound to arise and priorities sometimes have to change. Plus, this way we get to give all of our wonderful players fun little things to look forward to throughout the entire duration of the event!

With that in mind, here is a very tentative release schedule for the World of Hunger expansion release and 13th birthday event. Please note that everything here is subject to change, with things being added or removed as time goes on.

  • Friday August 1st:
    • WORLD OF HUNGER INITIAL RELEASE AND TESTING!
      • NEW ITEMS AND BLUEPRINTS ARE ACQUIRABLE FROM ALL OVER KRAFTIES!
      • BOUNTIES ARE ACTIVE, CREDITS CAN BE COLLECTED!
      • FOOD XP BOOSTS ARE ACTIVE!
    • INITIAL BIRTHDAY EVENT IS LIVE! (Through the 11th)
  • Saturday August 2nd:
    • NEW OINKLER SPECIES AND TRAITS!
  • Sunday August 3rd:
    • BLUEPRINT CRAFTING RECIPES BECOME ACTIVE!
    • OFFICIAL INFO DROPS!
  • Tuesday August 5th ~ Wednesday August 6th:
    • CREDIT BOARD OPENS, WITH CREDITS AND TIME WARP CRYSTALS BECOMING SPENDABLE!
  • Tuesday August 5th – Friday August 8th
    • OH ME OH MY ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! (secret content Krafties would like to drop if time permits)

World Of Hunger Expansion Part 1 Is Live, With More Being Added By The Day!

An Overview

    This expansion revolves around a simple premise: feed pets food items in order to imbue them with temporary “XP Multiplier Bonuses”. A huge assortment of new items and crafting recipes have been added that play into this mechanic!

    The World of Hunger expansion has brought a wealth of new content to Krafties, adding over 200 items to collect, 70+ crafting recipes to explore, and very compelling reasons to do so! But, what really sets this expansion apart is how it has been crafted to bring a multitude of game elements together in order to create a cohesive and engaging experience, moreso than any other release in the history of Krafties. As players explore familiar areas of the game, they’ll find that there’s quite a bit of newness to take in! And, they’ll also find that they’re leveling up much faster!

    One of the key features of the World of Hunger expansion is the modifications to old features that many players have overlooked in favor of what were more rewarding areas of the game. Whether it’s fishing, mining, trading, or… any number of other things, these activities have been revisited and had their incentives adjusted, with new loot, new trades, and new quest rewards to discover!

    This expansion is a particularly unique event in Krafties that is bound to create long lasting gameplay value, shake up how players engage with the game as a whole, and change things up in ways that not only set us up for a wealth of future content additions, but will keep players discovering new content (just from this one expansion) for months (at least!). As a player, your options for how to engage with the world of Krafties just got MUCH bigger! BUT, we know it’s a lot to take in at once, so here’s a simplified setup of how we imagine this expansion playing out for players just like YOU:

    • Players loot and collect SIMPLE, base food items and ingredients from all over the world of Krafties. Fruits, vegetables, meat, and so much more! These items make up the majority of ingredients needed to craft rare, complex dishes (which, in turn, give massive xp boosts when consumed). If players choose, they can eat these simple items by themselves for very small xp boosts. However, they can get MUCH larger boosts if they use them as crafting ingredients! Different strategies can be employed to collect specific, KEY base ingredients, and we’re excited to see the different paths players take!
    • In the middle of the food spectrum lies MID complexity food items, with many of these being COMMON ingredients used in rarer and more complex dishes that need to be crafted from simpler ingredients. Think Cream, Butter, Cheese, Dough, Salt, etc. These items will become THE MOST CRAFTED items in Krafties, and systems have been set up to allow players to do a LOT of these crafts, netting good amounts of valuable Crafting experience in the process. Blueprints for these items are available for Bounty Credits, creating a consistent and approachable source for crafting fuel and natural incentives for players to engage with Bounties regularly. For players that choose to pursue other Bounty items and forego whipping up their own ingredients, niches will open for players to provide these common and very necessary items through trade and the secondary market! “Need salt? I’ve got a guy for that!”
    • In the upper echelon of scrumptious goodies, a wide assortment of COMPLEX crafted dishes are available that give a variety of different, LARGE, xp boost combinations across various stats. Some foods will help during intense battling sessions for specific stat groups, while players might want to snack on something else when focusing on raising mental spellcasting levels. Rare Blueprints for these items have been carefully spread all over the world of Krafties, and all require a myriad of assorted ingredients in order to craft. Players are encouraged to explore and try to find reliable processes for producing valuable, high xp boosting foods to give them an edge in training and commerce!

    The World of Hunger expansion is more than just a new crafting system – it’s a whole new world to explore. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, there’s never been a better time to get involved in the world of Krafties!

    A Very Hungry New Species

    With all of these delicious new goodies appearing all over our world, a curious set of new friends have shown up trying to snort up all of the yummy items. Oinklers are spawning now! These cute, portly new pets may put on a silly little facade, but… might there be something deeper behind those eyes?

    Oinklers are joining the main Krafties roster, with lots of fun things in store for them!

    Diving Into The Details Of The Expansion

    XP Multiplier Boosts:

    • All food items in Krafties introduce a new mechanic: XP Multiplier Bonuses! This change gives players the optional ability to substantially increase their rate of progression, while creating intrinsic value for a class of items that, before now, haven’t seen a lot of love in terms of commerce or gameplay value. Not only does this play a huge role in increasing the amount of experience players earn during gameplay (a change universally supported in feedback surveys), it does so by utilizing well established, core, beloved features of the game. Keep in mind, pets can only hold FIVE food items in their stomachs every 30 minutes, so choose your boosts wisely! (NOTE: These values will be monitored and adjusted based on data and feedback, with the goal being to strike a perfect balance between allowing players to change their boosts in reasonable time-frames, controlling the rate of pet progression, keeping the larger xp boosting foods valuable, and controlling how many base ingredient items are necessary to achieve these things in order to keep their demand on the secondary market high.)
    • Looking for your boosts? Open the Krafties app and you’ll see the number displayed directly over your creature’s image. If you’d like to see a breakdown of which stat types are being affected, click on the ‘Stats’ tab in the app, and you’ll see an extra “XP Boost” entry per stat type. (NOTE: The in-app xp boost displays also show boosts given from Flash Events!)

    Food:

    • 200 new food-related items have been added to the game in order to support and bolster this expansion! An assortment of new edible base materials have arrived, which can then be combined during crafting to create more complex edible delicacies and dishes. The more complex or elusive the grub, the greater the XP Multiplier Bonus effect the item has when consumed! Different items affect the XP Multiplier Bonuses for different stat types, so players are naturally encouraged to explore and participate in more areas of the game as they set new goals for themselves.

    Blueprints:

    • “Coupons” have become “Blueprints”, with new Blueprint items being added for EVERY craftable food in the game. In fact, Blueprints are now the ONLY way to craft food! This change has a few wonderful side effects. Most notably, this makes players (and Krafties) less reliant on “energy” when balancing the game’s progression and in-game commerce. This path offers a more immersive and approachable set of goals for players to work toward, and, in general, means that players can get more good stuff, in more fun ways, and do a whole lot more crafting! 1 Blueprint + the proper ingredients = 1 crafted item. Want to know the ingredients required to craft something? Simply click on a blueprint in your inventory and all necessary information will be shown! (NOTE: All of your food coupons have already been automatically converted into Blueprints!)

    Bounties:

    • Bounties return with a vengeance! After the successful test-run of our bounty system a few months back, and a positive reception during feedback, bounties have been being permanently added to Krafties! This system is tightly integrated into the expansion, and will play significant role in procuring certain important ingredients and blueprints. Bounties are active now, and terminals are online! The credit board opens in a few days, so get a head start! (NOTE: Bounty Credit balances reset at the beginning of every month!)

    Commerce:

    • Commerce! The World of Hunger Expansion introduces a large number of new items that are intended to have a high degree of desirability, both as in-game rewards and on the secondary market. A major design goal of this expansion is to create a self-regulating system that naturally lends itself to encouraging trade between players, and what better way to do so than adding a massive number of useful, interdependent items to collect and use!

    Putting It All Together

    • The sources players are able to obtain recipe ingredients and coveted blueprints are varied, spanning across the entire world of Krafties! This change has given Krafties an opportunity to flesh out areas of the game that haven’t seen new content additions in a while, while setting things up to make the experience a bit more immersive. One minor goal of this expansion is to facilitate “emergent quests” forming for players when they encounter rare blueprints they may not have the ingredients for. In the future, Krafties hopes it may further lend itself to bolster additional, more narrative-heavy feature additions. Putting the RP back in MMORPG!

    Discovered Info (Work In Progress Section)

    • This section will be updated in the future with technical details on a number of things, after players discover new additions and make them known publicly. This is done to allow players to explore and experience these new features and communicate their findings with one another, while balancing the need to provide players with some structure in the future with the large number of changes this expansion brings to the table.

    Birthday Celebrations!

    Giftlet Challengers and Birthday Cake!

    Birthday Cake! Throughout the birthday week cake is dropping from wilds as loot. When eaten, Birthday Cake grants double crafting xp from item and soul crafts for 30 minutes. It’s a great way to share the birthday spirit with a big group of Krafties friends, so be sure to stock up while you can!

    Giftlets: A fun spawn returns for the birthday event! Cute little giftbox creatures are spawning for a short time, and when defeated they drop incredible rewards like Birthday Cake and Adventure Tokens!

    Candy Fish Swarms

    The sticky, sweet waters from the Birthday celebration have attracted a special swarm of fish! The three varieties of candy fish are being spotted in increasing numbers in the sugary waters of Krafties, and these friends have some very special properties. When placed in a fish tank, candy fish provide various degrees of nourishment for themselves and other fish in the tank. Put simply, more candy fish equals less food you have to feed your fish!
