Data Element

The Data element centers around a brand new set of mechanics, giving handlers low-level access to the stats system that Krafties revolves around. The most important aspect of this element’s gameplay centers around the “cron” system, allowing a handler to denote one “ingress” (or data-in) stat and one “egress” (or data-out) stat. After this selection, the process of converting data from one stat to another (effectively allowing a handler to choose a stat to constantly buff, at the expense of any other stat) begins. ANY stat type can be chosen for both ingress and egress, giving a wide margin of flexibility in how a Data type pet can be played. As the creature’s Mental Level grows so does the “bandwidth” between ingress and egress stats, meaning that more of one stat is able to be converted into another! Paired with the ability for Data elements to “hack” ANY stat of an opponent, Data creatures are granted quite a few options in how to approach gameplay.

To help handlers figure out this (intentionally) complicated new element, here are a few ideas:

Default: Ingress: 0 (Attack) Egress: 7 (Fortitude) Explanation: This setting converts the creature’s Fortitude stat into a buff for its Attack. At low levels this is a safe, if not exactly exciting, option. You’ll take a higher hit when being debuffed, but your spells will have more consistent damage amounts during regular battle.

Most Likely Settings: Ingress: 1 (Strength) Egress: 2 (Defense) Explanation: This setting will most likely be the most popular option for intermediate and high level play, creating higher damage output and higher damage intake (allowing for more healing xp opportunities)

Hunger For Crafting XP: Ingress: 4 (Crafting) Egress: 2 (Defense) Explanation: Same as above, except instead of optimizing for damage output, this setting optimizes for buffs affecting healing (resulting in greater Crafting xp earned)

Hacker Man: Ingress: 5 (Intellect) Egress: ANY Explanation: Suck away the power of any other stat, throw it into Intellect, and hit those hack spells harder! This may be an ideal setting for battling alongside other players with lower level creatures, allowing for interesting choices when debuffing their opponents

Other: Ingress: ANY Egress: ANY Explanation: You can literally do anything. This element was created for you to experiment!

A simple guide to remembering terms:

Ingress -> I -> IN Egress -> E -> EXIT Cron -> Chronology -> Time (30 second intervals in this case)
